I started my career
as a junior copywriter at TBWA/NEBOKO.
Made some awkward mistakes.
Won a Gold Lion in Cannes.
In 2009,
I teamed up with Emilio de Haan.
We had fun as Creative Directors at FHV/BBDO and INDIE Amsterdam,
while crafting work for clients like Hi KPN, Tele2 and
YoungCapital.
In 2018 we founded HERC, together with Niels Heimens.
The agency was named after the godfather of hip-hop, DJ Kool Herc,
who kindly approved this in exchange
for a small fist of cash.
It was HERC's mission to make advertising less corny and more inclusive.
We've shaken things up with work for G-Star RAW, Tony’s Chocolonely
and A$AP Ferg x Redline.
In 2021 we assured ourselves of a louder voice and a bigger scale, by joining ACE,
a family of leading agencies.
In 2023 I became the ECD of ACE.
